Applying for MPNP

If you are applying for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), first you need to check if you meet the eligibility requirements for Manitoba. If you do, then you can safely move on to the other process of applying for the provincial Nomination.

  1. Better to plan ahead for the provincial nomination of Manitoba as the processing time is rather long which lasts between 12 to 15 months. There have been cases where the processing of the application has taken twenty months.

  2. The in-demand occupation list is recently revised for Manitoba and seven occupations have been removed from the original list. These changes were introduced in May 2019. While checking eligibility requirements for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, also cross check if your occupation is in-demand list of Manitoba or not.

  3. Applicants who demonstrate an established connection to Manitoba through the following ways are nominated for MPNP under Skilled Workers Overseas:
    – the support of family members or friends;
    – through previous education or work experience in the province; or
    – through an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

    A score of at least 60 points based on five factors is required for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program in order to beconsidered under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream in addition to demonstrating a strong connection to Manitoba.Regardless of your total Assessment points,if one does not have a connection to Manitoba, then he/she is not eligible under this stream.A full assessment of any application received,is carried out by the MPNP, on the basis of theinformation provided by the supporting documentation provided at that time.
